Product Description

These Snowbee Classic Fly Reel Kits come with a complete reel and two spare spoils in a bag. The ideal system for setting up with a typical Floating, Intermediate and Sinking line combination.

The Snowbee Classic reels are top quality precision moulded fly reels from a tried and trusted manufacturer at an affordable price. These are great lightweight fly reels and probably the best value for money available from a mainstream manufacturer.

The Snowbee Classic 2 Fly Reel Kits come on either a #5/6 or #7/8 sizes to suit the most popular weights of fly line.

DETAILS

Precision moulded from glassfibre reinforced nylon, the Snowbee Classic 2 Fly Reel has a lightweight, rigid frame which is strong and corrosion proof.

The open cage design reduces the chance of getting your line trapped and makes changing spools simplicity itself.

The Classic fly reel disc drag has the same carbon fibre / teflon construction that you'd normally find on much more expensive reels. Strong enough to play a big fish on the reel and at the same time smooth enough that it won't stick when playing a fighting grayling on a 2lb tippet.

The Classic Fly Reel Kit comes in two sizes.

- A #5/6 fly reel kit suitable for most river and small stillwater setups
- A #7/8 fly reel that's ideal for heavier lines and most stillwater or even saltwater anglers.

The #5/6 reel has the capacity for a WF6 Floating fly line and 75 yds of 20lb braided backing line
The #7/8 reel has the capacity for a WF8 Floating fly line and 100 yds of 20lb braided backing line.

CONSTRUCTION

The Snowbee classic fly reels are made from reinforced nylon rather than the cheaper plastics used on other fly reels. The high grade Nylon used is tougher and stiffer than most other plastics meaning the reels can be made with thinner walls and finer details without sacrificing strength and durability. This helps keep the weight down despite the strong centre drag system and allows for a modern cut away design that looks as good as it handles.

#5-6: Weight 150g
#7-8: Weight 170g

One of the advantages of the nylon construction is that the classic fly reels look much more like their metal counterparts than other composite reels. Less chunky and more refined.

OUR OPINION

We really like the Snowbee Classic 2 Fly Reel kits

Modern composite fly reels have the advantage that they're lighter, stronger, more impact resistant and more corrosion resistant than anything but the very top metal fly reels.

The downside to composite fly reels in general is that they're in a very price competitive section of the market so many reels are manufactured to hit a certain price point rather than to satisfy a level of performance.

What Snowbee have done is produce a high performance composite fly reel with a modern and stylish look at a price that's still very reasonable.
